Warehouse Systems Logic

The BK Nolte Contacts warehouse and logistics teams have been busy over recent months improving existing systems and implementing new procedures to ensure that we continue to offer an unrivalled service to our clients.

Firstly, we carried out a complete reorganisation of the warehousing facilities and created defined areas for specific products with the addition of designated racking, shelving and marked storage areas for furniture products, ancillary items and white goods.

A new barcoding system ensures that stock is updated immediately. Picking errors have been drastically reduced thanks to our new scanning equipment which is also implemented during loading and delivery procedures.

To assist our warehouse team, we have created in-house labels which are used at the ‘goods in’ stage and applied to any products not displaying a barcode. This means that our entire stockholding figures are ‘live’ and updated constantly throughout the day.

We are currently investigating the installation of fully-automated conveyor belts to reduce manual handling within the various warehousing facilities and we hope to have this system in place soon.

Manual daily vehicle checks are now a thing of the past thanks to a new mobile application which provides a facility to instantly report damages, accidents and even fuel use.

All these improvements contribute to providing a professional and unparalleled service in our daily supply of contract kitchens to housebuilders and developers nationwide.
